The 4th global forum against the crime of genocide.
“Women and girls: challenging victim paradigm”

On December 10, the works of the 3rd Global Forum “Against the Crime of Genocide” dedicated to the prevention of the crime of genocide through education, culture and museums were launched in Yerevan. The Forum is organized by the Foreign Ministry of Armenia with the support of the UN Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect and in cooperation with the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS).

The Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan made opening remarks and chaired the high-level segment of the Forum.

Remarks were delivered also by Adama Dieng, UN Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, Fernand de Varennes, UN Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues, Kyriakos Kyriakou-Hadjiyianni, Rapporteur of the General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, as well as Henry Theriault, President of the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) and Mô Bleeker, Chair of the Global Action Against Mass Atrocity Crimes (GAAMAC).
